Tomorrow, the long expected Ski & Golf World Championship 2011 will start in Zell am See. The unique event combining two beautiful sport disciplines commences by a downhill skiing giant slalom race and continues on Friday and Saturday at the Zell am See/Kaprun golf club.
The start list shows among others names of Bode Miller, Patrik Järbyn and Philipp Schörghofer. The ‘universal sportsmen’ will be competing for three days: first at the permanent race track at Kaprun Gletscher and then 2 golf rounds (36 holes) at Zell am See golf club.
This major evet has been organised since 2004. Both professional and amateur golfers with maximum handicap 18 may compete individually or in teams. The start list of the first race tomorrow morning counts 223 participants.
The combination of golf and skiing becomes more and more attractive and Zell am See region is one of the few places in Europe that are ideal to organise such an event.
