Zell am See kicks off the winter season with its very first White Start Games Nov. 4-6 on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier and in the Tauern Spa. This lighthearted event is a winter games with a difference. Participants will go head to head in the somewhat unique disciplines of: “Snow Flipper Racing” which involves racing one other through an obstacle course wearing flippers; “Freeride Sweat Bathing” which takes place in the sauna; “Deep Snow Diving” is about who can hold their breath the longest in freezing temperatures; and “Alpine Styling” which sees contestants test their fashion skills by styling one another.
For the finale on Saturday evening, Nov. 5, a big party will be held in the centre of Kaprun for the athletes and all other fans of the White Start Games. Ö3 DJ Alex List and radio reporter Tom Walek will turn up the heat for the crowd at the Ö3 Disco Warm-Up.
Competitors who have successfully participated in all four competitions will qualify as finalists. The winner will be announced in a live quiz round at the final party and will be awarded a new Volvo coupe C30.
On Sunday, the weekend event ends with an ideal combination of skiing and relaxation in two free well-being stations on Kitzsteinhorn: the “Massage Drive-In” in the snow and the “Relax Island” with energy massages in the Alpine Centre will revitalise tired athletes and partygoers alike.
Anyone can enter the competition for €15 (entrance fees to the spa and glacier are not included): register at firstname.lastname@example.org.
